I was walking past a garden when I heard a continuous chirp of a noisy miner. I looked in the direction of the noise and saw a baby noisy miner. I sat down and observed the bird for about half an hour trying to get the mothers beak in baby's beak shot but didn't exactly nail it. Here is what I got any way.

p.s. I also saw a buff-banded rail run through the garden but when I ran in its direction to get a shot, I couldn't find it.

Nicely done, Justin.
Did you get swooped at all? I sat within about 3 meters of a nest of these fellas the other week. Only for a very short while though because the parent was not very pleased with me being there.

Thanks Nick, I was probably about 3 metres away also, not sure. A few times when I moved to get a different angle, the adult miner flew to a nearby branch and glared at me. I wasn't sure if it was going to swoop so I just looked at it and kept going. I was sitting down for about a half hour and didn't get swooped, so I guess I was lucky :D

You were extremely lucky not to get swooped. Noisy Miners are extremely aggressive when nesting. There are a few at work that make life hell in Spring walking to or from your car.

Currently just a P&S, but watch this space.

Great patience and nice photos even if they are busy because of the color blends.
