I just got a new Canon 70-200 4.0L, and notice all the photos I see of this and most L lenses they are White. My appears to be more Cream color and in fact in some light more gray.

Anybody else notice that

the L telephto lenses are not white, it's a bit off white/light greyish cream like color.

You have the correct color. They are not white because if they were truly white they would light up like a mirror on a bright sunny day. They are more of a whitish cream color.

Yes its a nice lens I do wish it was 24mm to 200mm. I need that wide angle for landscape then I wouldn't have to change the lens. One of my favorite lens for people but it tends to scare them off. Nice sharp images just what I like to take.

^^^^ What they said!

they are more of an off-white, pale cream. Still very distinctive.

So don't worry, you didn't get a fake!

Thanks everybody.

I was a little concerned about if it might be fake. But kept going back to buying it at B&H, and knowing they can be trusted.

Like everybody said, they're really more of a light beige, than white. Now where's the duck?!!!

Congrats!
