Three times I have tried to post instructions to this forum on shooting the moon and three times it has not accepted my post.

If you would like some instructions, email me (link in profile) and I will send out an email.

Examples of my moon shots are:

First shot of the moon (external link)

a silly picture with too many teleconverters (external link)

a daytime moon shot (external link)

EXIF data is under each picture.

WHAT, YOU DON'T WATCH THE CRICKET !!!!!

Ponting was trying to cut off a 4 and was sliding towards the boundary. Unfortunately he also colided with the photog sitting on the boundary. The photog was probably in the process of changing lenes as the large white L ( may have been a 500?) as it was not attached to the camera slung around his neck. I rekon this would pi** me off on several levels. Missing a shot because of the lens change, although it would have been next to impossible to get with a long lens as the focus distance would have been too long for that sort of intimate close up. The other thing that would have annoyed me would have been the possibility of camera damage whilst the lens is off and mirror exposed. When they panned back to him he had the camera on the lens again all good to go.

Has anybody been wondering where Carzee has been lately?

Well, yesterday and today he and I met up around 5am(ish) and took photos. After each 'session' we retired to my place where he met 'Killer" the Galah chaser and leaf killer:

and where we had coffee and lots of chats.

POTN Canberra - I think it was our annual general meeting... :)

If you look carefully, you will find him in one of these shots, too:

Ladies and Gents,

It has been some effort to read through this thread (and all the side links), :p at least a good couple of weeks at least.

I have a couple of POS digitals in the house and only bought the 400d in October, having had an EOS620 since 1989.

I look forward to learning heaps in the future. The quality of photography on this site noted already is inspirational.

Thankyou

Jim

Hi Jim,

Welcome to the forums! Hope you have a lot of fun with the 400D. Incredible little DSLR.

Drove through the gong yesterday on my way back from Ulladulla. Nice part of the world :-)

Hope to see some photos soon!

Hi Jim.

I'm a relatively new 400D owner as well - great camera, although all I have to compare it to is a P&S :)

Enjoy, you'll learn heaps here.
