I'm keen. Can't hang around for too long though as church starts at 10. You name the time and place, I'll be there!!

With (no) early morning traffic it would take you a bit under 2 hours to get to nobby's from the start of the F3. Allowing for a little time to get lost on the way (if you're like me!!) ;-)a

I think I'll be up for a 5am shoot, preferrably at the baths - really depends on how early work calls me in, if they call me in for a 3pm start I'll definitely be up for it. I should know in a couple of hours but I'll be out at a gig.. I can post here when I get back (probably midnight or thereabouts) or I can message anyone who wants.. just PM me and I'll give you my mob :)

Is the Baths location for you all about a more interesting foreground than Nobbys? Are there swimmers?

Thanks for the mob... Can't say that I've really gone down to the baths that early in the a.m. for a while but now that you mention it there may well be swimmers. I have a desire to capture the Bogey Hole and both Merewether and Newcastle baths as sunrise hits - I'm quite happy to do elsewhere as well but by the end of the year I definitely want some keepers of those three at sunrise.

I like all of those ideas. But we're still meeting at Nobby's tomorrow, right?

Cheers.

I wonder what possessed me to want to get up in three hours to catch the sun.. oh well. I think I might need a sensor clean before I do any landscape shots, too, it's been a couple of weeks :p

Aussie Club Newie meeting went well. Me, Luke and Jim. Unfortunately Mr Sun didn't wanna get out of bed.

I'm doing some PP right now - complicated settings to get all I can out of 14 shades of grey. :) Sad that the sunrise was socked in by off shore cloud.

Good idea would be to do a separate thread for the Nobbys shoot and link it here:

hi all - new to photography - reading heaps, learning lots, taking lots of photos - would love to get out and about to get some of those great shots i've been seeing - but 3 young kids kinda makes early morning/evening photo shoots an impossibility at moment - so i just stick to shooting the kids, the pets, and anything else i find around the yard - but then practice makes perfect (i hope...LOL) and i am probably learning more about my camera this way - but one day........

Hi ingi and Welcome to the clubhouse. Sounds a lot like normal sitrep at your home. We do what we can. Enjoy.
Are you near Bong Bong? (Gotta love indigenous place names like that.)

I'm just back from a weekend in Sydney - drove through the southern highlands thinking - wow - the weather is getting clearer and warmer!

Sydney on Saturday was oppressively hot - today it was cold, overcast and miserable.
