Well, there is a button marked A/C but it ceased to function several summers ago - and, funnily enough, the Aussie Bride gave the car a real good clean recently - the mobile ashtray tag has been temporarily replaced with a Green Apple Smelly Machine tag.

So, no, no aircon and Saturday was not a day for travel...

No pics as good as those you managed to get at Nobby's - must see if we can plan a trip up that way.

Jim and Luke took pics too. Waiting on them to finish catching up the sleep they lost I think. I found I didn't even use the 50mm f1.4 at all. Or the 70-200. Maybe redundant, maybe sell to fund another body? I'll do a few more shoots, but if I find them gathering much more "rest time" I'll definitely cull the flock. I nearly used the angle finder B but then didn't elect to get a waterline shot. So it stayed in the bag. Tripod stayed in the car too. Because of the windy conditions I could've used a better, quicker and cleaner methodology for lens changes. Hmmm, what to do? I was hesitating to change glass at times because of the salty windy air.

Hi ingi and Welcome to the clubhouse. Sounds a lot like normal sitrep at your home. We do what we can. Enjoy.
Are you near Bong Bong? (Gotta love indigenous place names like that.)

Bong Bong - not quite - in Bargo - between mittagong and picton - one of those blink and you miss exits off the highway.

My wife and I travel between Canberra and Sydney fairly frequently - I slow down somewhat as we get near the Picton turnoff in case there are parachutists in the air and the weather is appropriate - I would like to get some shots of those guys coming in to land.

Always happy to meet up with another POTNer so, if you're still around, I'll post a message the next time we rocket through. There is some very pretty country in that area.

If I have the cash I'd also be happy to buy the 50/1.4 off you Carzee ;-)a

I thought I'd linked to my beach post already, but my submission mustn't have happened. Woops.

Here goes:

Nothing spectacular. There might be something better but I haven't gone through all the pics yet. Early days with ultrawide methinks ...

Ah, Adelaide. And young too. Wish I had started young.

Anyway, I'm signing out of the club for a coupla days. Going to work at the Orange Field Days: http://www.anfd.com.au (external link)
Won't be taking gear: too risky. Got to concentrate on making some money.

Hey guys, just a wee lad here from Perth. I'm obviously new to these forums, and fairly new to photography.
Been out driving around the pilbra for the past few weeks taking photos (actually out there to film stuff for Rio Tinto, but I managed to fit in some fun).
So here I am, introducing myself and feeling at home with so many Aussies ;)

EDIT: Hopefully these Pilbra shots will be online ASAP. Got to get my negs scanned. Was out shooting with a 35mm EOS 1n. Was way to dusty out there for me to want to take an expensive D-SLR...yet.

Ahh, Newtown... I got some alright shots a while back of some fellow who busked with a guitar whilst balancing another guitar on his head (pointy end on his head)... funny thing is I can't remember what it was he was playing at all, just gave him some money based on his guitar stunt. Good distraction if he was a bad player :p

Welcome SOE digital :) And everyone else who's joined recently! :)

I'll get around to posting some of the shots from the other morning hopefully tomorrow, got the day off again apart from housework and making appointments and the like :p

and getting my car looked at.... a fair bit of oil's suddenly started leaking from the head which makes me a little concerned that the gasket's gone or something - getting that investigated very soon :p
