We still have a kind of clear sky, it went dark for a second but i think that was just the sun going behind a cloud...

It's closed right in now. I can't even see the sky, let alone guess where the sun might be in it. :)

Well, it's the peak of the eclipse right about now, and it's black as anything outside and it's just started raining. :(

According to this site:
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/index.php?id=63,448,0,0,1,0 (external link)

We've still got an almost an hour before the peek in Brissie, but said peek will be fairly lame (6.2% bite out of the sun).

Heh, I was just riding back from handing in some truck keys I found on the street to the police station in town when I got caught in this torrential downpour.. much fun riding in the rain :) Wished I had my camera when I was in at the beach on my bike on the way there though - there was an awesome shot opportunity of a massive storm cell off the coast..

Hey guys.

I've noticed quite a few threads around the place on "Someone has stolen my photograph".

Generally the discussion is pretty focussed on the US issues of protecting copyright. Thus i've included below a fact sheet which is Australia specific in case you havn't read it already. It's a good read, and worthwile holding on to.

And of course about 5 mins before it was meant to happen, large storm clouds came rolling in over the horizon and blocked out the sun. And now that the moment has passed, so have the clouds.

Oh there's still a few scattered about, but Mr No-Longer-Eclipsed-Sun is poking his hot an unwelcome face out all over the place.

That sensor dust size thread is hilarious. Am I allowed not to participate? :D

Sad about the whole eclipse thing. One of my workmates follows eclipses around the world ... admittedly this was only a partial eclipse anyway, but still sad to totally miss it.

By all means feel free to pretend it doesn't interest you. We all know you are a closet mathematician anyway.

;)

I did actually start a maths degree and considered going into it as an academic.

Oh, and my middle names are Isaac Newton. Truly.
