I know 50mm f1.4 is a must.. and I'm thinking of getting a sigma or tamron 100mm macro lens
what other lens should I consider?
Also, is it a pain in the butt to go from using zoom lens to all prime lens?

Also, is it a pain in the butt to go from using zoom lens to all prime lens? thats not really answerable, i prefer primes so for me i consider them a good thing, but alot of people who started out on zooms might consider them a "pain in the butt". Only you can really answer that.

I started in medium format, so never used zooms even when I got into 35mm (the zooms back then were strictly "snapshot" lenses and not nearly the quality available today). When I went digital, the first lens I tried was a friend's Nikon wide angle zoom and I was awestruck by the image quality. I myself only get "L" zooms because although they're a compromise they're close to primes in IQ, I am a sharpness freak, and I don't want to carry an arsenal everytime I go out to shoot.
