I got a Lens hood stuck on my digital rebel XTI's kit lens. I have tried but am unable to get it off. Help! It works, but I can't put a lens cap on.

I had a similar problem with my kit lense. Don't be afraid though just make sure to turn it anti clockwise to remove.

lol counter-clockwise? ;)

always remember Lefty loosy, Righty tighty!

I know the hood on my tammy was a little tight the first time, so you kinda have to force it...after soem time it becomes much easier.

Is that when viewed from the front of the lens or from the rear?

(By the way, there is no 'e' in lens :p )

Sure there is - BUT ONLY ONE 'e', not two.

I'm glad to hear that from someone who speaks the "real" English and not just Americanese. I've been somewhat reluctant at times to get into the spelling issue in the past on the forums here, thinking that in GB the "lense" spelling was really acceptable.

Fact is, none of the camera manufacturers waste an extra "e" with the word lens.

My 50mm lens hood got stuck on the other day but that's because someone threw a shoe at it from a couple of storeys up - it bent the plastic a little and took a lot of effort to get off but now it's back to normal with minimal visible deformation in the threading :p

The other one is the word 'Aperture' - or is it apparture, or aporture...:lol:
