Self Portrait, testing hair light

Saw something on the internet about using a Pringles can to make a homemade snoot for my flash so of course I had to try! I can't wait for my sister to get her so I can try it for real. Do you think it looks ok as a hair light! The lighting setup was the 580 ex to camera right up fairly high and the 420 behind me with a brown gel and the pringles snoot shooting at my hair. I think it might still be a little strong, but I have never used a hair light before so I am not sure! Now I jsut need another flash so I can have a backlight too=D

I agree it maybe a little strong...maybe throw some tissue on the end of this snoot, or tracing paper to soften it up a little.

Perhaps something like wax paper would work too, if the others don't work out! Cool stuff though, making it yourself!

thanks fenix_starr! I had a sheet of Rosco Rolux so I just used that and it seems to work really good.. pretty much seems like the same thing as wax paper
