Still working with 1 light/reflector and no background system (finally won one on ebay, just waiting for it). It's difficult to come up with different poses when you're using a black sheet as a background! I kept getting the wall/etc in the shot.

Anyway, here's one I particularly liked. Comments/crits/suggestions welcome and appreciated as always! :)

A) Lucky bahsturd. :)
B) Nice shot.
C) I'm not one to critique stuff like this.

the lighting and pose are good, but her face looks a little too soft.

very nice, your wife is beautiful and the shot is great, i like the lighting a lot, also the pose and crop works great.

just one thing, i dont know if its from the PP but it looks like the focus is on the clothes instead of the face, it almost nothing, but still looks great.
well done!!

A very lovely wife and cute pose! The only thing I would do different is sharpen her eyes and lips a tad. It's still gorgeous.

really like the photo but to be super critical: maybe sharpen some details on the face as suggested. Maybe try and do something different so you don't get such a detailed reflection of the light box in the eyes. Nice model too:-)

I like this one a lot. Your wife is beautiful, but her feature that stands out the most is her gorgeous eyes

Thank you very much, everyone.

I'll try and do some selective sharpening on the eyes/lips and see how that works out... I think her dress came out so well with the lighting setup that it sort of makes her face look softer than it may be ;)

As for the catchlights, I could probably do some additional PP on those to dull them a bit but I'm not sure how better to place the lights - with only one available light, I tried to get it as close to her as possible. I'll keep that in mind next time I shoot her and see what I can do to minimize the details of that octabox a bit.

Oh and ITA about her eyes... her best feature... totally capable of getting her whatever her little heart desires too. I fear my daughter may have inherited them as well.

I like this one just as much as the others. I have been hinting at my wife about picking up some lighting but she isn't as willing to have shots taken as your wife seems to be. Maybe one day.:)

Well you certainly have another perfect subject/reason to purchase some lighting, just run that by her. Actually, it was my wife's idea to go ahead and get some lighting so we could attempt some studio shots of our daughter. I'm just using my wife right now to get the hang of it/waiting for a real background before I try to photograph my daughter with the stuff. She's not nearly as patient or responsive to my demands ;)

Is her hair at the top of head missing? It looks strange!
