Unfortunalty these guys were at the zoo, I would love to see these guys out in their natural habitat.

Falcon looks a little soft--probably because of the angle. Love the cockatoo though, nice shot!
I minght have photoshopped out that bird in the background..would be a much nicer photo!

Thanks!
Jsutin, a friend of mine in Melbourne told me the same thing. That's quite amazing. I would consider myself lucky to see one outside just flying around.

Thanks Tina! I personally don't even notice the softness??? But if it is, it must be due to the cropping, this probably like a 80% crop or somthing. Thanks, apprecaite the feedback!

Nice work, I like the angle on the falcon shot. We had a gang of these cockatoo's move into the local park - gone now. Talk about noisy. It's hard to get good shots of them a lot of the time as they are high in the tops of the gum trees. I rarely see them on the ground. This can be compared to the Galah's which I've often found eating grass seeds on the ground.

Thanks Greg, Always in the trees eh? Sounds like the 100-400 is calling your name :) I wish we had some sort of exotic wildlife here in Tokyo...All we have is an occasional squirrel...Couple finches, and crows...:(

It is, It is. Seriously. Going to be my next purchase. Hardest thing with them in the trees is getting a decent angle. Photos of Cockatoos bottoms don't work that well.

We sometimes take our wildlife for granted here. It is so common we don't think about it. This shot (external link)was out my front door the day I got my 70-200 IS. I could almost guarantee if I walked out into my back yard right now there would be a fruit bat eating the fruit in my mulberry tree.

Tina,
Nothing yet...The leaves have just fallen from the trees, but no beautiful colors this year :( plus, I got to shoot around all the concrete buildings and everything else that destroys the nice views.

Greg, Excellent shot! I was thinking about moving to AU, but it's impossible for me to get permanent citizenship there. I don't want to go there only cuz the beautiful scenery either, what an awesome country!
