Along with a good friend of mine, we made the trek down to Seattle on Saturday for the Hot Import Nights (HIN) show. I was particularly pumped about shooting this event, as I got to use my shiny new 70-200 F4L.

Anyhow, here's a few of my favorites from the show, the full album can be found at http://www.2k4civic.com/albums/carshows/hinseattle (external link)

oooh, you got some great shots here!!
the 70-200 handled really well!

I was there with a friend of mine and I used the 50mm f/1.8 exclusively because of the low light. I'll post a few up after I clean them up a bit :)

I am VERY impressed with how the lens held up. I was torn between the F4L, the F2.8L, and the Sigma F2.8 as my 70-200 lens. I chose the 4 because it was available and it was the cheapest, and I just hoped that it would be satisfactory for this type of shooting. Turns out, it worked out very well, in fact I would now say that I don't even need that extra stop. These pictures were under some of the harshest lighting conditions that I think it will ever see... indoors with VERY low light, and at night with no help from the sun. I started at F4 and ISO 3200 and eventually found that I could get by even with ISO 1600, so I was very happy. Looking at my shots, it took me a while to get adjusted to the lens and the lighting conditions, but after I did, I was golden!

And thanks for the comments, much appreciated :D. I've tried a few different aspects of photography since I bought my camera a little over 6 months ago, and this style of shooting seems to be my favorite so far (hmm, wonder why?).
