getting ready to order this lens today and don't know if it comes with a hood. I don't use filters and would like the protection that a hood would offer.
What is the recommended hood for this lens?
Thanks in advance...
Chris

I actually i have to argue that point. i have the 50mm f1.4 and hood and i think the hood is fairly deep for such a small lens. you really have to reach in there to get at the lens cap. the kit lens hood is very small. it's more like a ring than a hood.

Unless you bought the lens used, and the hood was thrown in as a bonus, you most certainly did have to purchase it separately from the lens itself. -- Michael (a.k.a. SimonG)
