here's the same shot I submitted earlier, but without extensive pp. This one is just saved as TIF, cropped, resized and letting the program enhance with one click. Any suggestions as to how to lighten the head without over-exposing the rest would be greatfully appreciated.

Hi Nancy, lovely capture. You could perhaps try using the dodge tool around the eye and 'face' to bring out some of the detail.

this is a very nice shot i like it and yes the dodge tool wold be good just make sure you set a small enough brush size as it gives more control ,also ajust the % of how much is set to the dodge ie 20% may be enough for this shot.

Hi Nancy, not sure if this helps. I added a levels adjustment mask which allowed me to isolate just the head and neck area of adjustment, and the same with a slight 'hugh and saturation' mask to boost the lightened head area ever so slightly. hope this helps.
