well, i have yet to really buy any lenses, and i was at a camera shop down here locally. they had the 50 f1.8 II on sale for $60 so i sorta bought it on impulse

i guess ive needed a good/cheap lens for portraits/indoor photography and from what ive heard it cant be beat with the price...i just put it on and took a few quick shots and from i can see, itll make for a good lens...especially at only $60 ???

the f1.8 is great to have over my limited kit lens at f5.6 (at 55mm) :)

I just sold my 50 1.8. It was a great little lens but I just didn't find myself using it enough. Make sure the focus is accurate- at 1.8 you have very little room for error. Have fun with it!

Great lens. It's sharp wide open, but REALLY sharp stopped down to f2.8 or so. I find the FOV almost perfect most of the time I use it.

I bought my 50mm 1.8 lens on impluse too! First lens after getting my camera with the kit. Sadly I payed full price, but I don't regret it one bit. It's nice to have a fast prime. I would like to get some other primes down the road.

That was one of the first lenses I bought after my kit. Loved that lens, taught me alot. Unfortunately it bit the dust a month ago. Now I'm trying to decide whether to get another one or the 1.4. I realised that after a month without it, I really miss it.

That's an excellent price for a lens that is highly rated as superb value for money.

It's really weird using a prime when you are used to a zoom. Never mind the build quality, IQ is what matters, and this lens performs. AF is bit noisy and slow and hunts a little at times, but that's OK too. Enjoy!
