B&W looks better - but you lost the detail in the sweater. I think it would have been better if you shot from further away, or if she had kept her head straight. Her forehead looks to large in the current shot, I think.

But at least they didn't feel the need to show their teeth. I get tired of seeing all those teeth sometimes. Great when someone does something different!

The conversion looks good but then again, I'm a big B&W fan.
As for your comment about her blue eyes, you can still tell they are light colored in the B&W so I wouldn't sweat that particular detail.
