Dinner Show

I am going to a dinner show thing and would like to know if a 50mm f/1.4 lens would be bright enough with a 350D. I suspect it will dark everywhere except the center (where the show is). Please let me know if the 50mm will work for me thanks. I have a 70-300 with f/4-5.6 I suspect it will be to dark though, note I don't have a flash.

lighting is all over the place at a show like that. Very hard to tell you any advise. go with the largest apeture you can.

Well turns out I can't focus the 50mm properly because of my eyes and the camera can't adjust all the way to my eyes, I need a eyepeice with a lens in it. Looks like I will be useing the Sigma 70-300. i'll try my best

Better hope it is really well lit if you are using that Sigma.
