Quick visit to the zoo today, here's a couple of shots (from a safe distance...)
My 3 week old son critiqued the entertainment by sleeping throughout.

I really like the lioness shot.

The local zoo doesn't have anything that big but the Magpie will give your hand a hell of a peck if you're not careful.

Love the lioness Joeseph - she is a lot more impressive sitting like that than my little kitty :) She was just sitting on the arm of a chair like that - of course she moved when I went to get the camera lol.

Oh boy... I can read their minds... dinner! I like the lioness shot best. I presume you were shooting through glass on the 1st one?

thanks all, we got ourselves passes for the next year so look out for more of the same... :D

I thought about a CP but the weather was pretty grey when we left home so I only took a lens (100-400) with a UV filter so must be the glass (or my average CS2 processing!)

Tiger was about 10meters away for that one - went back just before we left and she was about a meter on the other side of glass, sadly at 5:15 the sun on the glass meant pretty rubbish shots so will have to go back sometime early in the day.

I went first thing in the morning because of the sun and glass. Mind you best shots are at feeding time :)
