I agree that the water and the texture of the sand, combined with such a wonderful sky, really pulls this shot all together. Did you shoot this at a fairly low angle? It really has great depth.
Great job Dimitri.

Not my usual very low angle Robert, around 2-3 feet off the ground as i used 55mm f/l and the ground was quite in your face.

I've been planning a shot like this for some time, as there is a stream that I'm quite familiar with that leads out into Lake Michigan. However, the sand texture looks NOTHING like that in your picture, Dimitri. I'm afraid my foreground wouldn't look half as good. I guess I'll just have to make up for it with a better sunset! ;-)a

This is lovely Dimitri, with a good balance. My preference (which would not improve the image) would have been to take a few steps to the left, and have the stream leading from the bottom left corner.

Good work.

Well if the nights before was ten times better it must have been a stonker !!

Very nice shot Dimitri Where were you buddy ?

There were much more defined clouds the night before with a darker colour,it would`ve been a stunning sunset Scott.

The deep orange in and around the sun really makes for a rich looking sunset and your image has captured that color well Dimitri. The ripples and the reflections in between the ripples are superb. Beautiful shot.
But the stream in the FG has a few (just a few)blown out colored areas, especially there at the curve, or maybe it's my monitor.

Thanks for the comments Frank, very nice of you mate.
No blown out HL Frank,i take it it must be monitor difference?

How could it be 10x better than this........just impossible..........as it's already stunning. The composition is gorgeous........not to mention the colors and testures........just wish I could catch something like this. :) Well done! ;)

Well,i meant that the sunset was 10 times better, thank you very much for the nice remarks.

Wow! Fantastic shot Dimitri, this is shot is somehow quite different from the other one's ive seen from you. I love the detail in the sand and the reflection of the blue skies in it and also the leading curve into the picture. Thanks for sharing this here :)

Daman,cheers for the comments buddy.
I keep trying different approaches and styles to my photography.
Basicly experimenting with different things,i like the idea of finding something new round the corner.

Nice colours Dimitri, but a little too much foreground for my taste, if half of it was taken away and slightly cropped on the right-hand side I feel it would dramatically improve the dynamic of the stream and help aid the viewers eye smoothly into the image.

The way it currently stands I personally find that the empty space of the foreground continually distracts my eye, impeding me from following the stream which leads to the main point of interest.

Very nice Dimitri - as usual.

You even avoided putting your footprints in the sand ripples. I'd try cropping it a little from the right and a bit less on the bottom. The eye seems to flow better... give it a try in Adobe and you will see what I mean.

Is that Arran in the background? Ayrshire has never looked so good since you arrived in Town Dimitri.

Edit:- I didn't realize Meerkat had just said the same thing... doh.
