I'd like to learn more about changing things like hair color and skin tone, and do other magic Photoshop stuff too.

For this one, I followed Penrod's tip to color his eyes:
1. Duplicated the image into its own layer
2. Changed it to a "color" overlay
3. Selected his irises (hint: use the circular marquee tool then subtract segments with the lasso),
4. used the paintbrush to apply color
5. Flatten
