If you have a 1.6 crop and need the red line, your best to get the 35 1.4 and pay hundreds less for it. The extra stops aren't going to help anyone much, and certainly don't warrant the hefty price tag. But, if you "gotta have it," and your "in the money," then there is no stopping you. My method for buying lenses is not: "Do I want it," but "Do I NEED it?" For this lens... I don't NEED it. Unfortunately that 'method' doesn't seem to apply around here very much -- K e v i n --
