8,000 meters! And I thought the air was thin up on Mt. Fuji at a mere 3776m!

No. The base camp is on @ 5200M.
The summit is 8,8XXM, and is growing every year.

It is over 8000M.
It was 7PM with -5C.

I thought that 8,000 m was a bit of an exageration and I was right. The base camp in Tibet is aprox. 5034 m. Still pretty high!

These are great! How long was the trek to the base camp? This is a trip I would love to take! I'm really enjoying you photos. Thanks for sharing!

Do you mean from the nearest village to the base camp?
- 3hrs walking in slow motion @ 5200M

If you mean from the nearest town?
- 4 to 5hrs drive in small paddle road.

Hi, i am going to base camp in November. I am taking a 40D. I hope it don't die on me:(

I am part of a Breast Cancer Charity trek. Great images, i am very up for the challenge.

Any tips would be welcome.

Ian

In the photographs I've seen, I've never considered the Everest area to be "scenic", but you sure can appreciate the physical demands and the terror that can be experienced.
