Its time for me to buy this lens !!!!

Where should I buy it? Is there a place that tests it for you to make sure you get a good copy? What is a good place to buy it in case there are problems I can return it for a good copy?

Allens Camera in PA... give them a call and you'll be impressed. They don't do online sales, though.

Not for soccer, mostly for walk around lens and semi wide anlge...I am finding I like using my kit lens more and more and this would make a better "kit lens" I think...

I am saving for a 300 2.8 or similar, maybe a 100-400 L IS for next years dividend...

We do have a local store, but the price is going to be well over $1500 and I dont mind paying a bit more, but at least keep it within 10%...is my feeling...I will check and see if they dont make me a similar deal. Problem is that they dont stock it and I will have to wait for them to order and then ship too...

Amazon has it for $1,144 and will ship it for free but I'm not sure how good they are on their return policies.

Wherever you buy it, wait for the 15th!!!!!!!!!!:):) It's on the rebate list. In fact, buy another little lens and double the cash back. I don't see the 10-22 in your sig and it just happens to be on the rebate list for the first time. Time for you to go UW?

They probably are good but you have to pay tax (no tax with Amazon) and shipping (also free with Amazon).

only in California as the OP'er is in Alaska _ Amazon's free shipping can be bad sometimes from my own experiences and I'm a 5 year shareholder.

What do you mean by OP'er? Also, what experiences have you had with their shipping?

OP'er = Original Poster of this thread being superdiver

On several occasions I've used their Free Shipping offer on Books and it would take up to 10 to 14 days before the item would arrive. I now just pay the extra cost and get the order usually in a couple of days instead.
