G2 Menu failure

Does anyone know why I cannot make setting changes when I open the menu. The time is showing ok and I can take pictures with the last good original settings. The 4 way switch has no effect on the menu

That doesn't sound good. If you've tried everything you can think of, I'd suggest pulling the batteries out (don't forget that litte wafer-type battery). Let it sit for a few minutes, re-install the batteries and see if it works. That's the only way to 're-set' the camera that I know of, and if that doesn't work, then I'd say you probably have problems.
