thewiz4u : I'd rather not frame and hang my dogs :D Just kidding. Thank for the comment!

Ryan O. Hicks: Very surprised to hear You say this! Big fan of Your photos, thank You! :)

justaf IREMAN: They sure are! Thank You :)

iCanon: Oh, i would not call them perfect but they sure look cute dont they? Thanks to You too! :)

Oh and here's some old pictures of my favorite woofers, Irma. She's so cute and humble :)

Very interesting .. I really hoped that 85L1.2's AF would be sufficient to get "action" pictures, and till now, everybody disencouraged me to try this.

Can you tell me if AF is quick enough to get such style of pictures ? (I could do these next pictures with a 135L2.0, which is a bit slow in the woods or late in a winter afternoon. 85mm'DOF is what I am looking for too)

(I just give links and don't show images because they are not 85mm)

Usually I don't have any time for a long focus .. at least, I need AI focus to work perfectly !!!

Do you have some samples with a running dog or just moving?

The 135mm f/2L is a whole different beast considering focus speed. The 85L is quite honestly bad for any type of action shots. They surely can be done, but there are way better lenses for that. Using a 5D/5Dii like i do surely wont help either. The tracking speed of the 85L will work just fine but if you lose - and you will - focus with the 85L, getting back on track will take some time and that will result in huge headaches and a couple of cursewords.

What i found interesting is actually that the EOS-3 i had two years back "drove" the motor way faster than the 5D so if the camera lost the subject it would snap back much faster. It was really a noticeable difference. Has anyone else experienced this?

Here's one action shot with the old 5D and 85L at f/1.6. The focus is a bit off so the head is blurry but downsizing helps :o

Thanks! Yeah it's an umbrella, but if they looked busted that would be fine with me too. :) The concept behind the shot is on my Flickr in the description; I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Glad to hear it - I was hoping for umbrella.

No umbrella in this one, though. We were trying to do the whole "cool-guy" look, I dunno if it worked. My buddy & I were bored:

Crazy...Imagine, the DoF would be almost non-existent if you used the 25mm tube. O.o

I am Henry. NOT Hank. And certainly not a length of rope tied in a knot. ;)
