The DoF on this, even on my puny Xti, is just magical! I still can't get over it.

I use it on my Gf's XSi sometimes, its crazy, you can barely see the camera behind the glass with the 85L mounted on it.

Hi all...really wanted to buy the 85LII...since I'm using a 7d could you guys please post more photo shot on a crop with this lens...even better if its shot on a 7D cause I really want to see whether 7d+85LII is a good combo cause I saw someone mention AF issue with this lens on a 7d.
maybe some you guys with this combination can comment on the AF issue...thanks!

Give me some specifics and I''ll go try to shoot examples that will answer since I have both the 85 1/2 II and a 7D.

in general maybe you can just go out shooting some portrait and everything/anything that is interesting...and do report any AF issue!

little example of pictures shot with the 7d+85LII are posted here :( all ff 5d pic :(
and do remember to post some in full res..not all just the 1 you think are good! your help is VERY MUCH appreciated!!!

I don't seem to have a problem with focus. The characteristics of the 7D are different than the 5DM2 and I shoot neutral and add sharpening after the fact. I did go and take several shots of my wife and some of my dog. Unfortunately the light was poor and I had to use a higher ISO to overcome my own natural shakiness, even setting the aperture at 1.2 which makes for extremely shallow depth of field.

However, I'm amused at seeing my own image reflected (if somewhat small) in my dog's eye. The image is a 100 percent crop, the second version is sharpened and noise controlled. ISO 1250, 1/13s @ f1.2, handheld.

Now this is one of the reluctant wife (hates having her picture taken). 100 percent view and more appears in focus, partly because I let the camera choose the setting at 400 ISO. So the shutter was 125s @ f1.8. As above the first is unedited except for cropping. the second with USM and slight NR--even at 400 ISO I see a bit of noise

thanks for the feedback...your wife photo seems to be focus...your dog however look soft...maybe you can shoot more and show a full version of the photo plus a zoom in 100% crop...that way its easier to judge...I'm pretty sure they are a lot of interesting stuff to shoot with this amazing lens...
