Lisa and Randal to be wedded later this year..

i caught them in their wonderful moment

working with couples might be daunting but here is how you can use simple composition to help.

Smiling is easy,
holding hands is easy
and leaning and sitting down is easy..
all equals a romantic private shot..

also it helps that this couple is really sweet on each other and thus you get results like this..

lighting was single 580 EXII with 1/4 CTO bare triggered by radio poppers in ETTL mode. camera left..

you can see the shadow under lisa's left arm..

Camera:Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure:0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture:f/2.2
Focal Length:85 mm
ISO Speed:100
Exposure Bias:0 EV
Flash:On, Fired

if you have a flickr i can help you get it linked in here, or tinypic.com works great too...

a photo shoot for Cherry...

she is from Tennessee and requested a country scene shot.

this shot works because we put her into a Curvy pose and the leaning on the fence is natural looking, and the leading and ending lines of the fence leads to her..

i desaturated, and added a rust layer scratchy texture

she is often my Light Stand holder or Light Boomer for me.

thanks Cherry for helping me the other day..

shot was taken late in the even, dusk really..

and another one i have been sitting on..

this winter was cold and long..

on Xmas day i asked Kathryn if she was bored? and if she was, lets do a shoot in the middle of the night... haha..

so what happened was her whole family came out and did this shoot with me..

dad held the lights, mom helped with the other light, and patrick her bro also assisted with more lighting

it was extremely cold, about 18 degrees, and young Kathryn held it in like a pro..

most of the snow falling was real, i added about 30 percent more, the bokeh on the trees is real.. bottom line i was freezing my you know what off.. but i rather be taking photos than being bored at home.. haha..

this edit involves many layers of textures.. but that is all i did.. simple textures post work

lighting was 2 lights.. AB1600 in the side for the rear kicker
and key light was the AB1600 with A beauty dish.. both were about 1/4 power

The focus is lock and i took the shot but after checking my camera display the picture turn out to be blur and out for focus at my subject.

I'm using one focus point and is at the center focusing point but the picture tun out blur and out of focus after preview at my camera display.

Anyone please kindly advice on this.

If you are shooting at the min focusing distance the DoF is VERY VERY shallow. This lens is very unforgiving wide open. You need to nail focus and it takes some practice to get consistent at it.
