I don't know what I like more, the bokeh, the rain drops or the curve of the free perfect framing them. Amazing.

Well thanks. They are nearly SOOC. Didn't want to spend to much time on them.

From our last wedding. I used a 24L and 85L combo the entire time while my secondary covered with a 70-200 2.8 and 50 1.4 well into the day as well. Check the 24L thread for photos covered by that lens.

Would a MKI be worth picking up if used solely for portraits and other still subjects if I found one for a good price? From what I hear, the optics are the same just slower AF.

Yes, and not only for those subjects either :D.

It is essentially the same lens, with th eonly differences being that the II has a faster USM motor, but effectively only marginally s, and a slightly more rounded diaphragm.

IQ is the same.

Kind regards, Wim

When people say the AF is slow.... thats all good and fine as I have seen videos of the AF speed.... and it does look a little slow, but, im sure in practical use its not that bad. My question is how accurate is the AF in locking on the intended target (referring to 85L II)... like my 35L and 85 1.8 simply do no miss or hunt, period... atleast not for me.
