Chris - not too long. I am an DBA/IT Analyst, and so I am very technical but creative - it's not too difficult. I think the most difficult part is getting the lightbox and such working (where it expands photos and such). Wordpress is open enough that you can do a lot, but closed enough that it makes customization a PITA.

Ha, I removed my question to send it to you in a PM! I had a feeling looking at your gear shots you were in IT, lol...same here...photography is a great creative release for us!

I love Wordpress, don't buy any theme unless its built for it, for those exact reasons!

Great site, keep up the good work.

here is my 2 light set up for a model rep for my senior work

Ryan O Hicks held the boom stick for this cool 2 light shot..

1. key light was the quadra at about .8 power
2. background lighting was the AB1600 with the 86 inch PLM with a yellow gel to color the grass up a bit.

pretty easy.. but wow what a cool photo eh>?

now i have another cool shot to fall back on in the darkness.. this one..

key light was with quadra and deep octa at .9 power camera left
back lighting was AB1600 with 64 PLM @ 1/4 with yellow gel camera left

Wow, ears are pierced on the little baby already? I'd be scared that they'd just yank at their ears!

Photos seem a little dark, underexposed by 1/2-2/3 stop.

Last week end for a job at a quad bike world race, I used a 85L1.2II with a 50D .. and results were really very very good (AF working perfectly even in middle of the night)

At such time, no zooms nor Nikon, nor Sony near the track.. I was the only one with a 85L1.2II@F1.2 and a 50D .. my 5DMKII was somewhat too short to be used.. Anyway pictures were sharp and AF really accurate with 50D and 5DMKII ..

^ Nice photos.

But looks like flash was used. I'm assuming your AF assist lamp was turned on so I would hope that it was able to AF. Unless you were in AI Servo. I don't think AF-assist works in AI Servo. :)
