Really enjoying this camera. I bought the body only and purchased a EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM along with it. Also got an extra battery, bag, tripod, 512 and 4Gb CF card. I've been wanting a digital SLR (and more specifically a rebel) for a long time.

So anyway, it was already dark when I woke up (night shift) and I was dissapointed cause I really wanted to go shoot outside. I'm not much of a still life photographer but I came up with this one pic that I thought was nice. The pic (to me) has a "moody" feel to it. That or I am just still so excited my judgement is bad :)

I would think that black and white would look good for this pic as well, but having a black and white photo directly referencing the year 2000 just seems wrong.. lol.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! I took a photography class in high school (7 years ago) and I've been interested since then. I never really got serious though because of the cost of develoing film. Digital cameras have just recently reached the quality we need. So I shot with Canon Powershot cams and made best I could. Now that I have a real camera the fun can really begin.

For some reason I felt like being experiemental so I grabbed an incense and lit 'er up. Not sure which crop I like more...

like the second crop more. There is a secret to creating thicker more noticable smoke though...But I don't know it lol. lighting is definetly on your side.
