I am going to buy 500mm f4LIS in January or February 2007 for wildlife interes.
Now my question: is that lens good enough for sports as well?
I mean is it fast enough to catch some fast moving or actions?

You need such high shutterpeed with f4 and 500mm that it is not the best idea for most sports but there are always exceptions. AF speed is super fast of course. ---------------

Now i have to focus on wildlife and 500mm only, i will have time later to get into sports more and get another sporty lens. Thank you again and i will try that 500 later in outdoor sports sometimes and see how its working. Have a nice time all!!! ![]() Lol... if you go pro, be sure to hire two or tree strong guys to carry all that gear. Cheers

I have monopod and tripod so what is the point to say that. he meant that you should hire people to help you carry all those lenses around. the fact that you have a monopod and tripod really won't help your gear become lighter.
