Late afternoon, after a long wait, the sun came out and caught the rock face on the right.

Nice to know the sun does shine at Elgol. The warmth of the lighting and the lines formed by the foreshore stones and the cliff make for a beautiful image, Les. Great work :D

This is a fantastic shot Les! The leading lines of the cliff texture and the stones all seem to be going towards a common vanishing point, making it such a dynamic shot for me :) Thanks for sharing!

I've been there

And I remember how much of a struggle it was to clamber over those over sized pebbles

Lovely shot Les, the low light really brings life to the area :)

Great capture Les. Once again, you really have to look at the larger image to fully appreciate it. The detail is just incredible.

L like the strong lines in this and the glorious colours. The rain/cloud on the hills in the background looks good.

Your wait was worth it to capture that light Les. Just out of curiosity, what is the longest that you reckon you've waited for the light conditions to become ideal?

I'm not so good at waiting around for good light, I've got tyical butterfly behaviour, so tend to flit around from subject to subject. :)

In this spot, I was aware that if the light did come out, the image would work, so I explored other subjects nearby , always keeping an eye out for the light.

Les, there's tons of areas around where I live that resemble this scene but always considered them a little to boring for me to shot (probably because I see it all the time) but your image is inspiring, especially when it's enlarged. Very lovely looking shot.

Love the way the wide angle creates a zoom effect, the light is beautiful.

Wow Les... this is one of your best.. I love how the lens' distortion sucks you into the image, and the composition also supports this.
Great colours and beautiful lighting.
