If your lens needs a 72mm filter, then you will need a 72mm adaptor ring. :)

I've finally given up on sourcing ND Grads here. A friend of mine is going to the states for a shoot and will bring me back a Lee .6 and a .9 soft. Should be in my hands in 2 weeks time. :D

Brace yourselves guys - 2007 is my year to grasp landscape photography and I'm bringing you along for the virtual ride. ;)

After reading on this topic over and over again, I've pretty much decided to go with the Cokin "P" ring, "P" holder + Lee filters that are made for "P" series. This way I get to have the best filters without going bankrupt. Has anyone else gone this route, and if so, how's the "system" working out so far?

I've got the P-series, so I've never looked to see if there is a Lee set to fit. Interesting if there is. You might find a little vignetting though down towards the low end of your 10-22 lens. I would definitely recommend that you went for the wide angle adapter for the P-series for this lens (it can hold one filter or the CP). Even then I think that you might see a little vignetting at 10mm.

Yes, there are Lee filters specifically made for those users of the P-series, but only in GND (no straight ND -- yet, that is, as I think they'll be making it soon). And yes, I'm planning on getting the WA adapter for the P-series. I'm hoping for no vignetting but I'm ready if a bit shows up.

Do you, by the way, like the filter size dimension of 84mm x 120mm x 2mm that Lee filters are made for the P-series? I don't know whether I'd prefer 100mm over 120mm. 120mm looks a bit clumsy, although I'm sure it's designed to be able to manuever easier...

I don't find the Cokin filters too long, so the extra 20mm won't make them much bigger, and will give you lots of leeway on where to adjust the graduation zone.

Thanks, that's comforting to know. :D

Thanks guys! I'm 1/2 way through the wait to get the filters and I'm getting antsy. I am not a good waiter. ;)
