Yep, sounds about right for a working setup. Oh, and the "fastener thingy" is called an "adapter ring".

Just to double check, these three parts would add up to a working GND filter setup? Cokin P299 Wide Angle Filter Holder 77mm "Fastening thingy" ![]() Cokin P121 3-Stop Hard GND Filter This would be for use with the EOS 400D with the Sigma 10-20mm. Thanks, -BrewsterPilot Cokin gradual filters aren't really neutral...they'll add a color cast to your images. Spend a few dollars more for a Hitech filter...you'll be glad that you did. By that I mean that it can blow out that portion of the sky easily. Perhaps next time, take a shot with the sun included (if that's what you originally wanted), and then try it again with the sun out of frame. Sometimes it can make a big difference on the overall out come of the photo (brighter photo and more colour). Geoff | SmugMug

Can someone tell me why I would want to buy the Lee holder and adapter instead of buying Lee P sized filters and a Cokin P holder and adapter?
