Common Tern

These aren't the greatest photos considering the background, but I guesss you take what you can get. I'm very pleased with how the bird itselt came out in all of them. I only wish that the wing wasn't cut off in the first photo, but again you take what you can get. These were taken back on 7/23 after a whale watch. I completely forgot about them until I was cleaning photos off of my computer. I thought I'd share them with you guys to get your opinions.

Even considering the BG, these came out nice. I agree its too bad about the wing being clipped in the first but still nice action on the landing.

They can be a bit of a challenge. They're on the smaller side so it can be difficult to follow them if there's a lot of 'noise' in the background. I got lucky with this one. He (or she) would perch on the post, take off and fly a small circle, and then perch on the post again. It did this quite a few times before finally leaving so I had several attempts of catching it. They're such pretty birds to see and a lot of fun to watch when they're hunting!
