Bird on a stick

I am still trying to get a good shot of the phoebe with a little autumn color. I am not having any luck , but I am sure enjoying the fall weather. This is the best so far . What are your thoughts on the composition ? As always thanks for looking and commenting.

I love that first capture.

I like both shots. The first is a little busy with the oof branch in the foreground but the bird is sharp and I like the contrast between the red and the charcoal BG, The second is a nice clean shot with a very injurious looking perch.

Oh my, I like them both, very sharp, the branches are a bit busy but the red leaves seem to frame the bird very nicely.

I'm with #1 sharp with good color and as Gary said " I like the contrast between the red and the charcoal BG " the oof sticks are a little bothersome but don't take away too much from the shot.
# 2 is well exposed, IMHO the angle is a little too high and too much stick (it is bigger than the subject)

Pose on both birds are excellent Chris and they are razor sharp. Catch-light is also good with nice details, well done.

Those are very good shots, Livingston.
However, stop shooting them in deep shade.

Great shots Chris, it is such a neat little bird, we will have them back this fall. I like the pose of the first shot and the background of the second.

Very pretty and lovely background. Phoebes do seem to look good against nearly any background. One of my favorite birds to shoot!
