GBH shots

The scenery at Montana del Oro state park is spectacular. I saw this fellow on the rock and shot him as he flew by.

Nice series here Paul and quite different with the rocky escarpment as perch. The first 2 get most of my attention. My only sugestion would be to rewmove about 10 % of the shadows in PS and auto contrast just to make it a little contrastier against the BG.

Paul, I think those are very fine images and the reasons are:

I feel an almost "tectonic" strength in the bird's flight
The background, especially the rock, is beautifuly rendered and gives such a nice contrast to soft bird plumage.
Technically all is good, especially that ample DoF which does not take away much from bird isolation.

Wow, the inflight shots with the rock back ground are excellent. Unusual, and the colours compliment the GBH perfectly.

Wonderful series of shots . I especially like the rock as the perch , very unique.

All the shots have a very "different" look (as in nice look) to them. I especailly like the 2nd flight shot where it is almost as if you are looking right down on him. Well done!

Those are excellent shots. Love the scenery, the rocks really are a great background to the heron. Great job with the focus too.

Nice captures Paul, the shots have good colour and textures because of the background rocks. Good focus too, well done.
