What makes a Hogback?

Apparently, a strong uplift and tilting of sandstone beds in this case, coupled with a break or fault on the western side. Taken near Boulder, CO. First image shows a view of the western side, the second a view of south end of the Hogback. While not clear from the image, my camera was aimed high above me in the second image. Canon S500.

Nice shots but they both could use some tweaking as they lack contrast (especially the first).

Thanks for the comments, Robert and Dimitri. I'll take your suggestions to heart and do a bit more processing. I did increase the color saturation on both, but I did nothing with contrast.
