Doing what Koala's do best... sleeping. Quite amazing how they just sit there and sleep without falling out. It was a hard shot to get, but I managed to find this little gap between the tree's and leaves. :)

I have no desire to hold one of these... the claws are huge. And if they panic they will claw you in the nastiest way!

How else do they protect themselves from predators? :D

Koalas don't have many predators to worry about here. Most predators capable of killing them are land based (Dingos, Tasmanian Devils, feral dogs, etc) and cannot get into the trees to attack them.

The claws are mainly for climbing and fighting other Koalas for terrirtory and breeding rights.

Currently just a P&S, but watch this space.
