Canon 70-200 2.8 IS handle??

Is there a handle I can get to screw on my 70-200 where it mounts to the tripod for walking around?

as in you want a handle in place of the tripod collar?

or one that screws on to the tirpod collar.

you wanna put a forward pistol grip on your camera like an assult rifle...HAHA my buddy was talking about doing the same thing on his tripod mount on his sigma 70-200...LOL

It would sure be a breeze to make one out of wood and thread the bolt into it.

no I want one that is like the tripod mount just longer horizontal. Right now I carry my lens and camera from the tripod mount and I just want that extended.

Try a local metal fabricator. Most of them can do wonders if you know what you want.

Since the tripod mount is roughly at the balance point with a camera body mounted, all you'd need is piece of aluminum bar stock about 5 inches long and maybe 3/4 inch wide by 1/4 inch thick. Bore a 1/4 inch hole in the middle and fasten it to the tripod mount with a 1/2-inch long 1/4-20 bolt and voila - you have your handle.

Actually they have a shoulder mounted rifle like pistol grip thingy that I saw in the back of my outdoor photography mag from a couple of months ago. It's sitting on my desk at work, but it was really cool looking, even had hook ups for a remote cable release to hook into the trigger...I'm sure if you search enough you'll find it, it not I'll grab the link at the office when I get there monday.
