I like the intense colours on the Turkey constrasted against the muted background. I'd like to see a bit of the bird's side but know you don't always get the angles you want.

Here you go.
The bird was 'wild' - but it was hanging around a picnic ground looking for scraps - so was easy to 'pose' - but it was a rainforest glade so the lighting was poor.

This 6 foot lace monitor was looking for scraps too - so guarding the food was a full time job.

Heh, looks a little bit like the Myall National Park (mind you, half of australia looks like that so that probably isn't saying much :p)... probably just memories of seeing those two creatures in close proximity to one another quite a bit as a kid.

Nice shots, I'd like to see the bird's feet and the rest of the monitor's tail though if you want some C&C :)

It was in the Wattagan forest - south of Newcastle - a spot called boarding house dam.

Thanks for the C&c .

Hey, yeah, I know the Watagans.. back when I did Duke of Ed there were fairly frequent bushwalks around there. Haven't been for a couple of years though... you live near there?

Bonnells bay - about 10 miles from the mountains and on the lake - best of both worlds
