This may not be the best picture to use as I was capturing lots of thinsg here, the bridge, the birds flying and the fog and the differen't light.

I was thinking the bridge would be a good test for the lens..but I don't know how to look for defects. (focusing on the bridge)

I'm going to also put this up on the critique cause I really need to do a better job on my lighting.

Hard to tell lens quality from a reduced file, but in terms of the image itself I would try to avoid horizontals halfway. Try to compose with something the eye will focus on, and a helpful tip is to follow the rule of thirds....

The mood of this shot is nice, though using an ND grad would have helped to balance out the sky. I think the bottom right portion should be cropped out too. But a nice job overall!

That's a very nice shot. A locomotive on the bridge might have improved it, might have. Still, very nice as it is.

the composition and lighting are great. post a 100% crop of part of the bridge with trees, so you show detail.

nice work

LOVE the pic! +1 on the above, ND grad, crop the right etc. but really a great shot! I'm not sure the bridge would be the best thing for a focus test due to lack of size but who cares, that shot is great!

what's that spot just above the clouds on the right? Look closealy and it looks like some sort of tower with a flag on it. I would get rid of that and the birds but otherwise nice shot. Lens seems to be OK judging from the small file. Landscapes isn't where that lense really shines though. Might want to go out and take some sports, nature or action shots to give it a good test.
