I used the EF 17-40 f/4 L on my 30D body, great lens and just wide enough for me at the moment on a 1.6 crop body.

feel that it could have been a tad sharper ,a trypod and a smaller aperture ,or is it looseing it on compression for the web

Nice one, John.
The light is lovely and the road/wall lead the eye nicely onto Wall End farm and beyond to Mickleden.
I remember taking a similar shot ( a bit closer to the farm buildings ) earlier this year.
It's a beautiful part of the country.
