They are all my favorites for many reasons. They tell a story and if any of them were missing, the story wouldn't be complete.

Thanks for sharing and congrats on the addition to your family.

Lena

Thanks everyone for the comments.

It was an intersting mix of internal emotions rushing by, tasks at hand, and on top attempting to add a photographic outlook.

Yesterday, still at the hospital waiting for the time to leave -mom and daughter were already good- I thought of a host of silly things to do, like putting my Canon on the empty Baby Bin, and take some photos like that (which did not work out, nurses had it against me already, I did not have a second camera, and I was already pushing the edge of the envelope).

In retrospective, I am thinking I may have passed the test. Now the wife has images of the baby's birth (she was upset when during the first birth, our first photo was of the kid 2-3 Hs old).

Judging personal pictures is almost impossible, so long as one does not forget to remove the lens cap. However, I do try to analyze how I did regadless of the obviously biased subject of my photography subject.

I think I composed decently on a few images, and had a couple of creative ideas for a photo (the one with the finger, hers wrapped around mine).

I could have worked on the White Balance, but decided that since I was snapping on the run, RAW+JPGsmall would be good enough, and then PP the few I really like.

The nifty fifty proved to be a good choice of single lens for the whole event. I did miss the wider angles, but the extra f stops allowed me to keep ISO at 400 (I am pretty sure), and use a shallow DOF to keep the backgrounds blurred. I still imagine the 24-70 f2.8 would have worked ok at higher ISO values, and would have taken great photos. Frankly, it is a relatively new lens, and I have not taken it for photos except for meetings and public events. So I have not really taken a photo that has blown me away in IQ, so Canon prime did jump out of the bag.

And Dante, I did think about y'all Lcoholics, the lens that kept popping in my mind at the hospital was the 17-40L. But hey, I had just enough money for the cheap canon, and to pay for the hospital deductible. So I think this time I can call it good.

Anyhow, my ramblings as I return from the underworld, and regain my consciousness.
