Could do with some USM, and it looks like you've blown out the sky (I'm always doing that myself). Makes me want to find a woodland path and walk though.

It's got good composition definitely, but you're right, it's quite soft.
Try that again, this time getting it more in focus.
Contrast looks good on my monitor, though can do with a slight kick...
