Has anyone else seen this? I printed it out and took it to a local store, and much to my surprise they price matched it!! :) Couldn't be happier to have my 30D at home!!

I've been an amatuer for 13 years now, and I'm excited about this camera. I recently ordered a 70-200mm 2.8 L lens for sports photography (have an oppurtunity there to make some $ from parents) and am replacing my Rebel XT.

Just wanted to share this with everyone, you may get lucky also if your store will price match CompUSA!

Hey, I worked at CompUSA too! How were your TAP numbers? Mine were dismal, but that's because I worked at customer service ;).

So why so cheap at CompUSA and how is their return/exchange policy?
Will they be offering the rebate? Is it worth waiting until the 15th or do you think the price will go back up?

the reason they are soo cheap is because they have entered "discontinued" status, meaning, we will no longer carry them in store, once inventory is out accross the nation, no more, i dont think there is a single compusa, last time i checked with them in stock, thats why you print the ad and price match it elsewhere, 21 days return/exhange policy, open cameras, notebooks, projectors can only be returned for store credit

I just checked around. No CompUSA around me has one. They say they will have them again next week but the price goes back to its normal $1299, which is still a pretty good price.
They currently have the XTi (400D) for $810. If I print the ad and bring it to Best Buy I wonder if they will price match on that.

They generally do match CompUSA and Circuit City.

I am sure they will price match it. Business is business. Heck, take it to a Sears, and they will match it, and BEAT IT by 10%. Can't beat that...if it's in stock!

the only reason a retailer will not pricematch is, the competitor is not a "brick & mortar" store, the competitor has limited quantities on hand, or, the competitor is out of stock, and if they say otherwise, they are lying, thats why that poilcy isnt written for you plain to see, so they can bend it around

EXACTLY! Man, I felt like a crazy person. I always told this to my managers when they wondered why I wasn't selling TAP, and all I got was that I wasn't trying hard enough. I'm glad to meet someone else who thought the same way ;).

Seriously, why judge the CSRs by TAP? That's not part of or job at all. If the salesmen can't get TAP, then how is that our fault?

Off topic still :).
