So i was walking back from my car from the football game (sports section). and saw a primo GH next to the lake. so i had to get my 300 out and shoot him. really wierd how much the water changed color when i changed angles. which do you like better?

don't know why, but I find I generally prefer the darker background. Just my preference. No rationale behind it, that I know of.

#2 works better because of the contrast between the water and heron. These guys usually dont let me get to close, good job stalking.

The blue has a nice tonal quality and works well. Noothing wrong with the green also..my vote Blue! :)

Not to be different here but quite frankly I prefer the first image. I still see water even with the green BG as that is normally the color of the water I see this species near. My experience is that water reflects its surroundings and Green Herons do like green environments:D To me the first looks more natural and I prefer the angle as well. The blue in the second looks artificially skewered ...just doesn't look natural IMHO and I find the bird has less contrast in the second image as well.
