Sorry for the teaser:lol:
My question is... Anyones best guess when used 5D bodies will drop below the $1,000 mark? We all know they will even be $500 and less at some point in the not too distant future but with new models and tech advances pouring in like a flood I am willing to wait a little while and still get what others can afford now:cool: If I always keep my budget for upgrading around the $1K mark I will always get the best, just a little later then the rest!!!

2010. 1Ds II has only dropped approximately $2500 in 3 years...

Well actually, if you wait long enough for that to happen you'll be waiting quite awhile and by that time it will no longer be the best because there will be better, more advanced equipment that has taken its place, hence the reason for the major price drop.

5D's $1000.00 ? used prices
No you will have turned blue long before that happens even in the fast paced world of DSLR model advancement.
And when it does you won't even want it.

Why bother to wait for a 5D for $1000 when you can get its newer equivalents at that price sometime in the future? In the meantime, just buy what you need and be satisfied with it. :)

The 1D which was released five years ago is still sold for over $1000, don't think we'll see 5D's for under a thousand ever

I am extremely satisfied with my current gear; this is just a hypothetical question. The 5D is, at present my Grail camera, I have plenty of patience and hopefully years of fun shooting to wait

By the time a 5D has dropped to under $1000 you'll probably want one of the new models anyway, by then they will have fuel cell batteries, holographic 3D sensors and make coffee for you in the morning. :)

They've already got modded computers that can make your morning coffee. It's only a matter of time before an ambitious modder grasps hold of this thread and goes to work on it. :D

From reading your title "5D less then $1,000? ", Im sure the demand of gentleman's porn wentr down in the adult stores when people saw that. ;) The 5D is one sexy camera, especially with a 400mm 2.8 IS! mmmmhmm, Paris Hilton isn't even in my head anymore haha.

i agree the 5d will never go below $1000 for one reason alone...inflation.

If there were enough voters who cared about SLR prices, I'm sure during election times, it'll be possible for sub $1000 5D just like how gas prices "magically" plummeted by $20 dollars or so in the past few weeks. ;)
