My favorite place to choot...don't know why, I'm just drawn to it...1st with the Tameron 28-75 at 28mm, the second is the Sigma (new :D!!) at 10mm, both with CP cranked up and processed with the same amount of adjustments...how do they compare to you?? They certinaly present a different picture!...PS: taken within 10 minutes of each other..and shot from roughly within 2 feet of the same spot

Its amazing how much the telephoto brings the mountain closer in the first one at only 28mm! Compared to the 10mm. I love wide angle images and gotta get me a 10mm lens sometime (or even 12mm).

Hope you don't mind but I wanted to see for myself how wide is wide from your images and WOW! Look at this example below of your two images. That really is wide. I placed them pretty much on top of each other as best they'd fit.

I like both in different ways, I love compressed telephoto shots, but I also love really wide stuff. Thanks for the thread showing the vastly different perspectives from a few mm's difference. You've got some dust by the way. ;)

Agggggg ! that dust is what you get to present when you are plinded by your own cleverness and hast to produce the same ! Thanks Dorman...That mountain is really a dominate feature in that spot, but it starts looking tiny even with the 28mm...I'd like to figure a way to get the forefrunt and the mountain in say , a 75-100mm size..it would start showing the way it lords over the rest of that land scape ...It's Spencer Mountain, by the way........

Wow...holy cow ! That is a great idea you had ! I never thought they would overlay anywhere near that close...what a great example!Thanks..(how did you do that by the way?)

I did it through photoshop. Just pasted the 10mm and the put the 28mm over it and turned the Opacity to 50%. Then resized 28mm (Ctrl+T) and locked its scale then matched it up with the rock in the middle of 10mm. To put the frame around it all you need to do is go to "Blending Options" and put a inside "Stroke" around the image. Very simple through PS and takes longer to explain then do it.

Thanks for the example. I've never really seen the difference in front of me like that. You may have just got me to buy a 10mm lens. (Bad bad BAD!)

Thanks for the walk thru...You will love the lens...It is taking a little getting use to...You can do landscapeds and live with the distortion without much thought...but it gets a little wild with people...I have some landscapes with people I'll post tomorrow...I really love how it's been getting me to see (in my imagination) potential subjects...a whole new way of thinking!

For this particular scene, I prefer the 28 mm version. However, from my own experience, you will find lots of situations where the 10-20 is wonderful. Good shot, by the way.

The second shot is incredible to me. It has so much depth and that's what I'm a big fan of in landscapes. It just seems to go on for miles!

I agree that both have their place though. Thank you for sharing this.

I love that Sigma shot... CP has really done it justice and made the water so much more appealing.
