I got my new 1D Mark IIn, 16-35L f/2.8 and 580EX so I did a little practicing with the girls.

No, I just adjusted the FEC until I got it to a point I liked.

Great mid-air captures! I bet it was fun for both you and them!

Did you pre-focus at a set depth, or was the lens able to focus fast enough? What settings were you using?

I wasn't paying much attention to the settings as I was trying to get the "feel" of the new body and the 580EX. I had the ISO bumped probably to much....no I did have it up more than I wanted.

Most of these were at f/9.0 1/160 ISO 800.

I used the AI Servo on some and single shot AF on others, it is amazing how well the body and glass focus. I used center point focus as I have not read through how to really adjust the AF points. I'm just so use to the single point with the 20D.

I'll probably re-shoot sometime and go down to ISO 400, the main thing I did was meter off the background and then used the 580EX as fill. I shot in RAW, adjusted levels and curves and a touch of Noise Ninja because of the bumped ISO.
